Confirmed.  I am working on the documentation and hope to provide
"hygienic", drop-in versions of those very `s.el`, `f.el` libraries.  I
agree with Stefan that those libraries don't seem to be solving the same
problem of forward-compatibility, though (at least how I've understood
it, which may very well be "not at all").
