The Emacs Trunk Windows Binaries (bzr revno 108826) have been published in

http://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/emacs/windows/

The binaries were built using the following libraries:
giflib-4.1.4-1
gnutls-3.0.9
jpeg-6b-4
libXpm-3.5.8
libpng-1.4.3-1
tiff-3.8.2-1
zlib-1.2.5-2
libxml2-2.7.8
libiconv-1.13.1-1

NOTE: These binaries are built from the trunk, which has been reopened for development after the release branch for Emacs 24.1 was cut.

Please report any bugs that you come across via M-x report-emacs-bugs,
or email bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org.

For questions, email emacs-devel@gnu.org.

Thanks, Christoph.

Has anyone been able to download a large file from that site recently (say,
http://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/emacs/windows/emacs-20120702-r108826-bin-i386.zip)?

I've been trying since this build was published, using a fast connection (at
work), and as soon as the download gets to between 800 and 900 KB it ends.

I have the same problem now trying to download the previous build, which I had
no problem downloading when it was posted.

Is there perhaps a problem with the server at http://alpha.gnu.org/? (Or is
there a problem at my end?)

Yes, I just did without any glitch or trouble.

I haven't had a problem so far but I did notice your email id. Does
your firm have new internet usage policies in place that caps by
Mbytes? The place where I used to work, the filters came on at 10am
to 4pm where speeds were reduced/throttled for http/ftp.

Guessing here.

It's nice of you to provide this service for MS Windows users.
If these weekly notices must go to two mailing lists, maybe you could
set reply-to/followup-to in the annoucements, to try and keep
subsequent discussion in one place?

Dunno, but I'm not aware of any such change.
Good thing to look into, though.

(I also tried downloading to another host, but had the same problem.)

Sure, but I am not sure what I would set it to. Any suggestions?

Christoph

I suggest emacs-devel.

Certainly nobody has told anyone within my part of the same organization
of such a policy. (I could name a number of people who would have
high-pressure steam coming out of their ears if such a policy was
imposed.)

The proxy has had periods of not-working-at-all-well intermittently
reported over the last few days, though. It is generally wise to try to
not put too much load on the poor little thing.
