    Perhaps the Info file should cointain the file name of a text image
    file and the file name of a real image file; then, depending on the 
    kind of display, the Info displayer can use one kind of image
    or the other.

Yes, this is another Info file format change that has come up before.
We should implement it when we can, along with the other format changes.
