Nope.  And please state explicitly everything that it does -
just what it saves and restores, inhibits, etc.  Otherwise,
from the simple doc string alone it is not obvious what
code (bindings etc.) this can replace.  Yes, a user can
consult the source code, but there is no reason not to
describe what it does in more detail than just "pretending
it does not modify the buffer".

There is one use case only for the macro: Adding text properties to the
buffer without having the buffer-modified flag go off.

I've now rearranged the doc string to make that clearer.
