Hello Crasten,
              I have a problem with Org-mode 4.73 compiled
by me.

My emacs version is:
GNU Emacs 22.0.95.1 (powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.8.20)
of 2007-03-02 on malo, modified by Debian

the org-version shipped with my emacs: org-4-67b

I wanted the latest org version so I compiled org-4.73
following the instructions in the documentation.
Org-mode didn't work.
Enabling debugger I got this error:

Debugger entered--Lisp error: (void-variable org-org-menu)
  org-mode()
  set-auto-mode-0(org-mode nil)
  byte-code("\bŸÅ\x19‰\x1aƒ/\0\n@\x11Æ	!„\x1a\0ÇÈ	\"ˆ‚(\0É\x13Ê	\f\"„(\0ËÌÅ\"ˆ\nA‰\x12„	\0*Ň" [modes mode --cl-dolist-temp-- done keep-mode-if-same nil functionp message "Ignoring unknown mode `%s'" t set-auto-mode-0 throw nop] 4)
  set-auto-mode()
  normal-mode(t)
  after-find-file(nil t)
  find-file-noselect-1(#<buffer foo.org> "~/foo.org" nil nil "~/foo.org" (588841 774))
  find-file-noselect("~/foo.org" nil nil t)
  find-file("~/foo.org" t)
  call-interactively(find-file)

whereas if I run

$ emacs -l ~/emacs/org-4.73/org.el

everything works.

I'll stick with latter ;-) however it made sense to me to file a bug report

Giovanni
