Hey,

I've run in to some confusing issues building older versions of Guix
using a more recent version of Guix.

Take the following example.

When I build this, I get the following errors that appear towards the
middle of the output.

Any ideas as to what this means? It seems to only happen when I build
the older package with a recent version of Guix. If I switch back to an
older version of Guix it seems to work fine.

The pre-core-updates Guix needed the Guile bootstrap tarballs in its
build tree.

However, commit 59127916556d75554de52910ccd1565e17b7b127 removed those
tarballs from the inputs of the ‘guix’ package because they are no
longer needed (see 4f024ef3181c5235ff11789e8c8f62722f974787).

The solution for you is to reinstate those inputs when you’re building
older ‘guix’ packages.

Ah, I did try and check for changes in the guix package in Guix, but I
obviously missed these changes.

Thanks for the tips. Now that I know the issue, I might just update the
version of Guix I'm trying to build.
