an lm simulator (usim-2023-03-24) was recently posted to one of the
lists i'm on.

i see that they used a custom character set, with many of those chars
showing up in the lisp code.

a doc file included details about the set, but i'm surprised not to find
support for it in iconv, in unicode's mapping files or in emacs' etc/charsets.

before i work on one, did i miss anything already in emacs' src?
