Yes, I remember that.  And if memory serves someone argued that this
could be greatly generalized and etc., which is probably true.

Anyway, I think it makes sense for basic things one needs to write a
sensible configuration to be built in, but if there's no consensus as to
how the ideal "site-lisp.el" should look like, then a package is better
than nothing.
