* Shouldn't `search-ring' and `regexp-search-ring' be saved by savehist.el?

I've customized `savehist-additional-variables' to include `search-ring' and
`regexp-search-ring'. I find this very handy (especially when using isearch
with completion).

I wonder if these histories shouldn't be saved by default?
