Having a slash at the end of the destination directory *is*
significant with rsync:
$ touch foo
$ ls bar
ls: bar: No such file or directory
$ rsync foo bar/
$ ls -al bar
total 0
drwxr-xr-x 3 skangas wheel 96 Sep 30 15:50 .
drwxr-xr-x 4 skangas wheel 128 Sep 30 15:50 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 skangas wheel 0 Sep 30 15:50 foo
