Hi, I didn't know which bug to reply to, so I'm writing here; recently
released GPG 2.2.42 (3 weeks ago) also exhibits the same hanging bug as
2.4.*. Previous version 2.2.41 is fine. FYI.

Ouch, I'm still on 2.2.41 and locked gnupg from upgrading. The report
for 2.4.* was
https://dev.gnupg.org/T6481
and as far as I can see, that has been fixed in the 2.4 branch but there
hasn't been a release with the fix.
You should probably open a new report and link the above one.

I just wanted to mention that GnuPG 2.4.4 works fine again, just in case
you haven't seen that already (etc/PROBLEMS already contains that info).
