Hi folks,

A few problems with the CVS compile at the moment.

Loading dired (source)...
Loading info (source)...
Symbol's function definition is void: locate-library
make[1]: *** [autoloads] Error 255
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/resolve/Build/emacs/lisp'
make: *** [bootstrap-lisp] Error 2
zsh: exit 2 make bootstrap

And in man/

tramp.texi:25: Unknown command `copying'.
tramp.texi:50: Unmatched `@end'.
makeinfo: Removing output file `../info/tramp' due to errors; use --force to preserve.
make: *** [../info/tramp] Error 2

And finally:

% cd lispintro && make
makeinfo -o /home/resolve/Build/emacs/lispintro/../info/eintr
    /home/resolve/Build/emacs/lispintro/emacs-lisp-intro.texi
emacs-lisp-intro.texi:227: Unknown command `copying'.
emacs-lisp-intro.texi:256: Unmatched `@end'.
emacs-lisp-intro.texi:335: Unknown command `insertcopying'.

Are the last two related to my version of texinfo or something? (running
unstable debian)

Regards,

Didn't happen to me yesterday evening. Try to regenerate loaddefs.el.

You have an old version of Texinfo. Install Texinfo 4.2, and the problem
will go away (@copying was introduced in the latest Texinfo release.)

Same here.

Looks like the error's occuring further up in the bootstrap process now. Did I
regenerate loaddefs.el incorrectly?

This is from a fresh checkout about 6 hours ago - I had other issues when
attempting to update the CVS source I had from a few months back.

Thanks, that fixed it.
