Wrong emacs-diff/emacs-commit information?

Is correct the patch information from the Emmacs-Commit and Emacs-Diffs
lists?

I've received a message from Emacs-Diffs with the following header
fields (among others):

Apparently I'm the originator of the message (I'm in the From: line) but
I didn't commit this change, as

https://savannah.gnu.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs/emacs/emacs/src/ChangeLog

shows...

I'm not new to CVS but I haven't got a lot of experience working with
different branches, so at first I thought I had made a mistake and
incorrectly commited ChangeLog info from another branch.

In general, yes; but not always.

Did you commit any change to some branch of the CVS, like the RC
branch?  The script that monitors CVS commits doesn't DTRT with
branch commits, so you get the last commit to the same file from the
trunk instead.

Just ignore these cases.

Yes, that's what happened. I commited a bugfix on the EMACS_21_1_RC
branch.
