Severity: wishlist

The quickurl.el package "provides a simple method of inserting a URL
based on the text at point in the current buffer".  This seems to
duplicate what built-in abbrevs, skeletons, tempo, etc. can do, not to
mention the plethora of third-party packages (e.g. yasnippet on GNU
ELPA), but it has a more awkward and specific interface.

I suggest we obsolete it.

No further comments within 2 weeks; now done on master (commit
04b9216b92).
