Hi. This regression was introduced very recently. Suppose I have this
buffer:
=========================
void main(void)
{
int a;
int a_b;
}
=========================
I move the point to the 'a' in 'int a', and invoke M-s . to search for
the symbol 'a'. No other occurences appear in the file, but isearch
erroneously sees all other 'a' as separate symbols. This happens
regardless of the mode of the buffer.

That's my fault. Seems I am misusing the `lax' argument of the
function stored in the isearch-word variable.
I thought that was about lax whitespacing, but it's really just something else.
I'll fix that tomorrow and then think of how to fix the lax-whitespacing
