`M-x eww RET
https://www.comichron.com/yearlycomicssales/postaldata/1968.html RET'

will open an eww buffer with the web page in question, but then that
buffer is killed, and a number of other buffers are killed, too.

I haven't investigated yet, but my guess is that there's an url.el
callback that is being triggered in the wrong buffer, or... something.

In GNU Emacs 28.0.50 (build 4, x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 3.24.5, cairo version 1.16.0)
 of 2020-04-22 built on marnie
Repository revision: ab214143bbc633bcbe1ae146647c2fdc882122f0
Repository branch: master
Windowing system distributor 'The X.Org Foundation', version 11.0.12004000
System Description: Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)

For what it's worth, emacs-w3m opens the above site without issue.

Best wishes,

This has now been fixed in Emacs 28.
