(info "(gnus) Limiting") mentions how to limit, but not then also how to
unlimit back.

Apparently one must "q" quit the summary, and then reenter it.
OK, mention that.

@findex gnus-summary-pop-limit
Pop the previous limit off the stack and restore it
(@code{gnus-summary-pop-limit}).  If given a prefix, pop all limits off
the stack.
