The node says this in the beginning:

A register can store a position, a piece of text, a rectangle, a
number, a window configuration, or a file name, but only one thing at
any given time. Whatever you store in a register remains there until
you store something else in that register. To see what register R
 contains, use 'M-x view-register':

But the subnodes also talk about holding a frame-configuration in a
register. Should the top-level node be updated similarly?

In GNU Emacs 29.0.91 (build 2, x86_64-w64-mingw32) of 2023-05-14 built
 on AVALON

What's more, there's no subnode for frame-configuration registers. Instead, although the node name wasn't updated, use of such registers was simply added to the node titled `Saving Window Configurations in Registers'. A frame config is not a window config. The node is named (for `Info-goto-node') `Configuration Parameters', so putting this info in that node is fine. But the node title is misleading.

Fixed, thanks.

Fixed on the emacs-29 branch, and closing the bug.
