Hello,

I'm using emacs in a terminal (rxvt-unicode) and I'm surprised to notice that, although bold and underlined characters are supported, italic ones aren't.
As far as I remember, that's just a distinct escape sequence to parse, doesn't sound like a big deal.
Would emacs' maintainers be so kind as to include support for italic fonts in terminal emacs, or otherwise explain why this isn't worth the effort ?

Kind regards.
