(ccmode)Style Variables:

you can set the variable `c-old-style-variable-behavior' to non-`nil'.

That should be "non-nil", not "non-`nil'".

In GNU Emacs 23.0.94.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600)
 of 2009-05-24 on SOFT-MJASON
Windowing system distributor `Microsoft Corp.', version 5.1.2600
configured using `configure --with-gcc (3.4)'

Similarly, throughout the manual. Also, the Org manual uses `nil' in at least
some places.

(Personally, I think `nil' and `t' look better than nil and t, but IIUC those
two symbols are not supposed to be quoted.)

Apparently I was wrong about it being the convention that those two symbols not
be quoted. Looking at the manuals generally, they seem to be quoted. Dunno where
I got that idea; I thought I recalled Richard mentioning it as the convention to
follow.

So much the better.

We do use @code around `nil' and `t' in Texinfo.
(We make an exception for them in doc strings.)

Ah, thanks for the explanation. That must have been what I had in the back of my
mind. Makes sense.
