I think the variable you might want is org-export-latex-image-default-option, which you can set in your .emacs, or on a per-file basis, see http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-orgmode/2010-02/msg00355.html. The problem you're describing with floats collecting at the end of a document is a fact of life in LaTeX, and is often caused by one too-large image. One way is to set a smaller size for the image, and another is to ensure that [p] is one of the letters in the placement attribute--this lets a float appear on its own page. hth, Tom -- Thomas S.
