It is used to put all entries in a bibtex file in the bibliography.

Here is a minimal example Tex file that should list all the entries in
mybibliography.bib

\documentstyle{article}
\begin{document}
\nocite{*}
\bibliographystyle{unsrt}
\bibliography{mybibliography}
\end{document}
