I got same problem.

- GNU Emacs 27.0.50 (build 1, x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 3.24.5) of 2019-02-22
- Org mode version 9.2.1 (release_9.2.1-274-ge3b7c3.dirty @ /home/stardiviner/Code/Emacs/org-mode/lisp/)

Not just `org-code' face, also other faces like `org-verbatim' etc.
