It interacts with Org-mode pretty well. See back on topic :). I used to use VM, but at the time (a few years ago), the imap was a bit of an afterthought. Some people like mew, I think it is a bit simpler than wanderlust if you don't need the offline features of wanderlust. A very new contender is notmuch, but IMHO, it is not quite ready for general use. d
