Ah, great, but it only works for vectors

x = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
fprintf('|%d', x)

For matrices it has to be sprintf

%% 
A=[1 2 3; 4 5 6; 7 8 9]
sprintf('|%d |%d |%d|\n',A')
