If something in the schema has changed since, I would appreciate someone correcting me. So, I'm not sure what's going on in with your notmuch database. I tried tagging a couple of messages with the same tags you are seeing in case there was something in one of these tag names specifically that was ticking a problem. But things look fine for me. Here's the output I'm now getting on my notmuch store with the same commands you gave, (and note that everything is working for me): $ notmuch search --output=tags '*' | grep telegraph EA%3Dtelegraph%40gmx%2Enet EA=telegraph@gmx.net $ notmuch count -- is:EA%3Dtelegraph%40gmx%2Enet 1 $ notmuch count -- is:/EA.*telegraph/ 2 $ notmuch search --output=tags '*' | grep telegraph | head -n 1 | wc -c 27 Anyone ave a theory for what could explain what Gregor is seeing? -Carl --=-=-= Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIzBAEBCgAdFiEEzvjdyAGcpm1OMJTzYAIzup5U3GEFAlsVgs8ACgkQYAIzup5U 3GG2LA//eo7fhXZJVKtQ7IEeD+bQ/GDJMsqyNcbuziSMTGKZLwI9SSTmIr+j5u9X mCW+Y2ZiQZwdhlEugKpb+7aCzOn5/vVZoinst6K64grf61DclKZQkDmbWuRwgQYe 2wcsdoLp7ut6toa67WStDAmoFCeTrWwp1uMg63t4wVLpujZZlEAGWu/xBcExVvfb B8Ad1FfUPbQEFbsSNYNMo+RRJFTP2WaRNBuMO+YyYwwUq2LXx8FGJ1SBmj8Q812c QqdF26Ru+ug0k7Ut9w7RgOH7Z3Ucbo+TWblafEz2tLtpLRjnRuDgEjWOJlsPKS9x l6zpPQfCygEC+8MXU3AONtvssTDQgJxQV7u6FsP0qsLItSW1diirP+zZz/HGb1dS c/wOjpCXL2lG2kxDluFkLW70trw5RI49lQZCOCGfu7WO5MdHp2bLb7Ae50k8Z/qT /uiHLPVtMrnAWqfNDnEEXkPaT4aADPxLPEKbR7xFtqU0SGTY3yvmmM3qerBkI8J0 3ZOUIRe/zFgu6up2RQD5JzRT3XApXnfOHyiR8wBzYylKQWs4adklkVveRg0lvni2 Rkxq1ikhdpMRjWavAUMoJ5KvT0d3V+cxqNbRLsmkbBrHIkKBVu36/3yd5CzPohvx /ErN8rteLXY2LNJ6uTMTmB5tpmKJIbOVjBihpGhwgTqgNlH21R0= =oyj3 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-=-=--
