Hey, folks. For the curious, I was able to resolve this issue with some help from the dpkg-dev maintainers [0]. It turns out that I was for some reason missing the following important file: /etc/ld.so.conf.d/x86_64-linux-gnu.conf I have no idea how it got removed, but restoring it with dpkg cleared up the issue, allowing me to build the package again. jamie.
