As far as I can see there aren't any tests for notmuch-show.c when
outputting multiple messages and in particular for the --entire-thread
option. This adds test for output=text|json|mbox with and without
--entire-thread for queries involving just a thread-id or a thread-id
together with some additional query.

The current tests do not test the ouptut of multiple threads from one
query, or anything involving exclude tags.

The output is rather verbose so I have put these in files in a
sub-directory. The first patch adds these test-output-files (and is
obviously generated), the second much smaller patch adds the actual
test.

Best wishes

Mark

+
+Welcome, Lars!
+
+I hadn't even seen that Keith's blog post had been picked up by lwn.net.
+That's very interesting. So, thanks for coming and trying out notmuch.

+
+Sadly, the lwn article coincided with me having just introduced this
+bug, and then getting on a Trans-Atlantic flight. So I fixed the bug
+fairly quickly, but there was quite a bit of latency before I could push
+the fix out. It should be fixed now.

+
+Notmuch works just fine with maildir---it's one of the things that it
+likes the best.
+
+Happy hacking,

+The version of lib/messages.cc in your repo doesn't build because it's

+Welcome, Lars!
+
+I hadn't even seen that Keith's blog post had been picked up by lwn.net.
+That's very interesting. So, thanks for coming and trying out notmuch.

+Sadly, the lwn article coincided with me having just introduced this
+bug, and then getting on a Trans-Atlantic flight. So I fixed the bug
+fairly quickly, but there was quite a bit of latency before I could push

+Notmuch works just fine with maildir---it's one of the things that it

+
+I saw the LWN article and decided to take a look at notmuch. I'm
+currently using mutt and mairix to index and read a collection of
+Maildir mail folders (around 40,000 messages total).
+
+notmuch indexed the messages without complaint, but my attempt at
+searching bombed out. Running, for example:

+
+I'm curious if this is expected behavior (i.e., notmuch does not work

+Welcome, Lars!
+
+I hadn't even seen that Keith's blog post had been picked up by lwn.net.
+That's very interesting. So, thanks for coming and trying out notmuch.

+
+Sadly, the lwn article coincided with me having just introduced this
+bug, and then getting on a Trans-Atlantic flight. So I fixed the bug
+fairly quickly, but there was quite a bit of latency before I could push
+the fix out. It should be fixed now.

Hi Mark;

This series was tagged stale at some point, but I imagine the conflict
was trivial (since it mainly adds a new file). If you do decide to
rebase it, how about some actual commit messages? Also, I wonder if you
should use the new test_expect_equal_json function?
