Open notmuch "from" a random buffer. Keep the notmuch-hello open. Remove the directory of that buffer (and the buffer too). Try refreshing notmuch. Get greeted by: "apply: Setting current directory: No such file or directory, /the/removed/directory/" * What outcome did you expect instead?
