does work.

The only nuance I'd suggest:
Configurable search vs direct link.

In our case the hashes are intended to be unique links to individual
messages, not search results. Maybe this should be configurable
per-plugin?

For the moment we'll deploy with x=t to provide an equivalent view when redirecting old URLs.

P.S. If you did any further work on the watchglob, it would be helpful.
