List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Errors-To: guix-devel-bounces+gcggd-guix-devel=m.gmane.org@gnu.org Sender: guix-devel-bounces+gcggd-guix-devel=m.gmane.org@gnu.org To: guix-devel@gnu.org Dear guix-devel, =C2=A0 I have some problems with the CUPS package=2E=C2=A0 I have made some progr= ess since I complained on #guix last night=2E But I'm still not able to print files=2E =C2=A0 At first the CUPS-daemon cupsd refused to start=2E I was able to solve thi= s: - I created groups ("lpadmin" "sys" "system") in my OS-template=2E =C2=A0 Now I can start cupsd as root, but when using either the web interface or = lpadmin to administrate printers I get an error message: "lpadmin: Request Entity Too Large" =C2=A0 Googling I realized that this was CUPS' way to tell me it could not write = to the spool directory or the log files=2E Indeed I found the following lines in /var/log/messages=2E =C2=A0 May 26 05:26:13 localhost cupsd: Unable to change ownership of "/gnu/store= /543kjj82rf610fgnjgp938f0h4wnf4i6-cups-2=2E0=2E1/var/log/cups" - Read-only = file system May 26 05:26:13 localhost cupsd: Unable to open log file "/gnu/store/543kj= j82rf610fgnjgp938f0h4wnf4i6-cups-2=2E0=2E1/var/log/cups/error_log" - Read-o= nly file system =C2=A0 Apparently cupsd tries to write to some location within the store, which i= s mounted read-only=2E =C2=A0 So what do I do about this?
