Like with my comment on ‘Avoid extra 'lstat call.’, I would move the
(format #t (G_ "Removed ~a.\n") directory) outside the catch.

If 'format' somehow throws a ENOTEMPTY/ENOTDIR system-error, something
is very wrong.
