Not sure what you mean here.=C2=A0 Fontconfig cannot be removed from
/gnu/store without first removing all the graphical applications in
there (almost all them depend on Fontconfig indirectly).

Ah I didn't considerr this. I installed fontco= nffig in my profile because without it Emacs would mess up the fonts.
I didn't consider that something else depends on it too.

According to the image you posted

=C2=A0 https://imgur.com/a/0l89F
=C2=A0 https://imgur.com/a/UMayj

you=E2=80=99re using gnome-terminal.=C2=A0 How did you install it?=C2=A0 Ar= e you using
=E2=80=98gnome-desktop-service=E2=80=99 on GuixSD, or something else?

Yes, gnome-desktop-service on GuixSD<= br>
=C2=A0

If you=E2=80=99re using =E2=80=98gnome-desktop-service=E2=80=99 on GuixSD, = can you reproduce the
problem if you build a VM of your system, with =E2=80=98guix system vm=E2= =80=99, and run
the terminal in there?

Ok, here = is a picture taken from a brand new vm image running in quemu
https://imgur.com/a/lNKrT=

It's good, I'd say

I pressed send by m= istake

This is the command line I u= sed to create the image

guix system vm-image /etc/vm-config-desktop.= scm \
=C2=A0=C2=A0 --image-size=3D30GB \
=C2=A0=C2=A0 --share=3D$HOME= =3D/exchange

and this is the comman= d line I used to run it (ater having copied the image out o the store)
