Hi,
After 8 hours of waiting, "guix pull" failed with this message:
srfi/srfi-1.scm:592:17: In procedure map1:

Please report it by email to <bug-guix@gnu.org>.
Has anyone run "guix pull" successfully recently? I have been trying
for days without success.

I do not experiment any issue; it runs successfully.
What is your "guix describe" version?
(it also succeeds with the commit 9ffbc2456babcc8e61e5291bef1f04037145bd95)
All the best,
simon

I ran it just about an hour ago on x86_64 and it worked just fine.

I just pulled and it took just a few minutes.

I was also able to run guix pull on a foreign system a few hours ago and
on a Guix System a few minutes ago
do you still have problems?
Ciao, Gio'.

After a few more tries (each of which took multiple hours to fail), it
finally succeeded. I guess I just got very unlucky.
I've been updating some systems with a fairly old version of Guix, so
perhaps that contributed to the very long "guix pull" times. It felt
like Guix wanted to compile the whole world just to run "guix pull".
Anyway, it's succeeded, so please disregard my original message. Thank
you for all your responses!

Could it be that those old systems were talking to hydra.gnu.org and
thus not getting any substitutes?

Thanks,
Ludo’.

That's what happened to me on my oldest Guix installation (hosted on
Ubuntu). I had done regular pulls on my user account, but not on the
root account, meaning that I was running an ancient daemon that tried to
connect to hydra.
Fix (reconstructed from memory!): on the root account, do
guix pull –substitute-urls=https://ci.guix.gnu.org
guix package update
and reboot.
Cheers,
Konrad.

Yes, it's possible this was the cause. Thank you to everyone who
replied! In the end, I was able to run "guix pull".
