I did some time ago: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/guix-devel/2018-05/msg00139.html The environment variable names changed in the meantime, I guess you=E2=80= =99d need to set GUIX_STATE_DIRECTORY now. > A common complaint about Guix is that it requires root permissions to > install, which is =E2=80=9Cscary=E2=80=9D and may seem unnecessary on sin= gle-user > systems. Am I missing something obvious? I think it=E2=80=99d be great to streamline this use case. We could even s= hip a -RR tarball in the future, though we need to think about all the implications. One of them is that we=E2=80=99d probably need to include a shell in the bu= ndle, so that users can =E2=80=9Center=E2=80=9D the file system view that include= s /gnu/store. Alternatively, we could provide a package transformation option that =E2=80=9Crelocatable-wraps=E2=80=9D executables, using =E2=80=98wrapped-pac= kage=E2=80=99 from (guix scripts pack). Thoughts?
