No: if =E2=80=98check=E2=80=99 fails (or =E2=80=98install=E2=80=99, or =E2=
=80=98patch-shebangs=E2=80=99), then the whole
process fails, and the store path is marked as invalid.

That is, /nix/store/*-ocaml* exists and may even be populated, but
=E2=80=98valid-path?=E2=80=99 returns #f for that directory.  Thus, the dae=
mon considers
that it has to rebuild it, as if it did not exist at all.
