I think this has always been the case because this command only lists
statically-known locales, strangely enough.

Hmm, I suppose there is something else going on here.

Could you try in =E2=80=98guix system vm=E2=80=99 with the desktop.tmpl exa=
mple and see
if the same problem occurs?
