Hello all,

After doing a full rebuild of Guix, I've gotten myself in a situation
where guix environment segfaults. Would anyone else be willing to test
and verify that guix environment works for them? I want to make sure
that it's working properly in time for the release.

Running something like 'guix environment emacs' and verifying that a new
shell spawns should be a good enough test.

Thanks!

I've tracked down the problem here. I was using a package defintion
that I tweaked to include a native search path specification for
LD_LIBRARY_PATH in order for Guile's dynamic-link procedure to work
without an absolute path to the library. Mark told me that I can
instead use LTDL_LIBRARY_PATH. This works without segfaulting!

Hello,

This did indeed spawn a new shell for me with a different `env'.

I ran `./pre-inst-env scripts/guix environment emacs' after git pull,
autoreconf etc.

HTH,

Alex
