I've written an Emacs package that allows to abbreviate store paths, i.e. one will see: /gnu/store/…-foo-0.1 instead of: /gnu/store/herewehavefancylettersandnumbers-foo-0.1 Source, documentation and screenshot can be found here: <https://github.com/alezost/pretty-sha-path.el>.
