In general, I think it=E2=80=99s better to avoid diverging from upstream, s=
o I=E2=80=99d
rather not patch Ruby itself.

As for a wrapper, I don=E2=80=99t know, but it doesn=E2=80=99t sound very n=
ice either.
But really, the best thing to work on would be Gems as Guix packages.
