Though honestly I think its=20 a neat solution because doing things this way you don't even have=20 to create a =3Dchannels.scm=3D file. You can use the =3Dscheme-file=3D=20 procedure to just embed scheme code in a file like object and=20 deliver it to the destination. Also when I asked on the IRC [1]=20 ludo raised some concerns because there may be some issues with=20 creating the =3D/etc/guix/=3D directory but I haven't run into any on=20 three machines where I've done this.
