Gottfried =E5=86=99=E9=81=93=EF=BC=9A > "hplip" doesn't appear anywhere, so I can't open it and to=20 > choose a scanner. I probably can't fix your problem, but note that packages don't=20 necessarily install a command named after them, or an =E2=80=98icon=E2=80= =99 (as=20 you mentioned in a previous mail). Only a tiny fraction of all=20 packages do both. There is no =E2=80=98hplip=E2=80=99 command or programme; don't wast time l= ooking=20 for one. The hplip package does provide several small tools, none of them=20 named hplip, of which two look relevant: =2D hp-scan, which throws an error message here because I don't have=20 a supported device; =2D hp-uiscan, which also throws an error, but it's ~graphical~ (so=20 it might be a better tool for you=E2=80=94if it works!) There are many other hp-* commands that you can see by typing=20 =E2=80=98hp-=E2=80=99 at a shell prompt. However. Expect a number of these tools not to work properly. For example,=20 they might look for files in the wrong place or try to write to=20 the store, simply because they've never been tested. It is quite=20 possible that you are the first to ever try using them with the=20 intended hardware. You'll have to see, and report any errors you=20 get, and *perhaps* we can help fix them. The joys of using a tiny distribution: sometimes you really are=20 the first person to try something :-) > Probably no Guixer has a HP printer/scanner all in one, > so nobody was able to help me. Very possible. I don't. > Or any other problem that hplip doesn't appear in my MATE=20 > Desktop. See above; I think you're expecting something to happen that=20 won't. We'd need to add .desktop files for that to happen, but=20 that would require actually testing the tools to make sure they=20 are useful (IMO). Maybe we should have =E2=80=98I own XXX hardware=E2=80=99 teams=E2=80=A6 Kind regards, T G-R --=-=-= Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iIMEARYKACsWIQT12iAyS4c9C3o4dnINsP+IT1VteQUCYvetVA0cbWVAdG9iaWFz LmdyAAoJEA2w/4hPVW152w8A/0YqHC5E1EMbc4AGnaDVRsn9FJDBZUaJeirHvbND 4g+GAP9qOhVu4T0+FbrX/zqaxNbElk8DxjH3RJEr2kR9xlQOBA== =cGna -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-=-=--
