=E2=80=9Cpre-inst-env=E2=80=9D is a wrapper script that will be created whe=
n building
Guix from a git checkout.  It ensures that the (possibly modified)
source directory is used for all operations.

If you don=E2=80=99t have a source checkout then you won=E2=80=99t have tha=
t script as
you don=E2=80=99t have a need for it.

This discussion is about a change that is not yet part of Guix.
