GNU has applied as an organization to participate in Google=E2=80=99s Summe= r of Code program again (see below.) I see several Guix-related topics that we could propose: =E2=80=A2 Porting Guix to the Hurd, like last year (Manolis had applied f= or it last year but we didn=E2=80=99t get the slot because of miscommunicatio= n.) =E2=80=A2 Using GNUnet to distribute substitutes (same topic as last year, under the assumption that GNUnet=E2=80=99s status makes it feasible, wh= ich I haven=E2=80=99t checked yet.) =E2=80=A2 Writing a DHCP client library in Guile Scheme, possibly augment= ing the socket API in Guile itself. The idea is that it would allow us to have better integration of the DHCP service in dmd. Any other ideas come to mind? Thoughts? Thanks, Ludo=E2=80=99. --=-=-= Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Return-Path: Received: from solo.fdn.fr ([unix socket]) by solo (Cyrus v2.4.16-Debian-2.4.16-4+deb7u2) with LMTPA; Wed, 18 Feb 2015 14:47:51 +0100 X-Sieve: CMU Sieve 2.4 Received: by solo.fdn.fr (Postfix) id 11FC3D083D; Wed, 18 Feb 2015 14:47:51 +0100 (CET) Delivered-To: ludovic.courtes@fdn.fr Received: from fencepost.gnu.org (fencepost.gnu.org [IPv6:2001:4830:134:3::e]) (using TLSv1 with cipher AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by solo.fdn.fr (Postfix) with ESMTPS id DA49BD0836 for ; Wed, 18 Feb 2015 14:47:50 +0100 (CET) Received: from eggs.gnu.org ([2001:4830:134:3::10]:56248) by fencepost.gnu.org with esmtps (TLS1.0:RSA_AES_256_CBC_SHA1:32) (Exim 4.71) (envelope-from ) id 1YO4yi-0006lC-OP for ludo@gnu.org; Wed, 18 Feb 2015 08:47:48 -0500 Received: from Debian-exim by eggs.gnu.org with spam-scanned (Exim 4.71) (envelope-from ) id 1YO4yg-0001Hm-V7 for ludo@gnu.org; Wed, 18 Feb 2015 08:47:48 -0500 X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.3.2 (2011-06-06) on eggs.gnu.org X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, score=-1.9 required=5.0 tests=BAYES_00,T_RP_MATCHES_RCVD autolearn=disabled version=3.3.2 Received: from lists.gnu.org ([2001:4830:134:3::11]:55914) by eggs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.71) (envelope-from ) id 1YO4yg-0001HS-Sj for ludo@gnu.org; Wed, 18 Feb 2015 08:47:46 -0500 Received: from localhost ([::1]:50822 helo=lists.gnu.org) by lists.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.71) (envelope-from ) id 1YO4yg-0006cl-Qh for ludo@gnu.org; Wed, 18 Feb 2015 08:47:46 -0500 Received: from eggs.gnu.org ([2001:4830:134:3::10]:60223) by lists.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.71) (envelope-from ) id 1YO4yd-0006cZ-FR for summer-of-code@gnu.org; Wed, 18 Feb 2015 08:47:44 -0500 Received: from Debian-exim by eggs.gnu.org with spam-scanned (Exim 4.71) (envelope-from ) id 1YO4yY-0001E3-Dl for summer-of-code@gnu.org; Wed, 18 Feb 2015 08:47:43 -0500 Received: from fencepost.gnu.org ([2001:4830:134:3::e]:37478) by eggs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.71) (envelope-from ) id 1YO4yY-0001Dx-9y for summer-of-code@gnu.org; Wed, 18 Feb 2015 08:47:38 -0500 Received: from ukc1-proxy-mwg05-o.oracle.com ([144.24.20.230]:55784 helo=termi.gnu.org) by fencepost.gnu.org with esmtpsa (TLS1.0:DHE_RSA_AES_128_CBC_SHA1:16) (Exim 4.71) (envelope-from ) id 1YO4yX-0006jM-Ry for summer-of-code@gnu.org; Wed, 18 Feb 2015 08:47:38 -0500 From: jemarch@gnu.org (Jose E. Crossing fingers... we will announce in this mailing list as soon as we are notified that we are accepted, or rejected. Now is the time of populating the ideas page at http://www.gnu.org/s/soc-projects/ideas-2015.html Please send to this list patches against ideas-2105.html (use the previous years ideas pages at the obvious url for a template) containing the list of ideas for your project. It is ok to keep your own ideas page somewhere else: in that case please send us its location so we can link it from the main page. Salud! --=-=-=--
