Subject: [bug#72170] [PATCH v2] news: Add entry for changes in Plasma 6.1.2 and sddm service.
Date: Thu, 18 Jul 2024 16:12:22 +0200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <875xt2okl5.fsf@pelzflorian.de> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <f4d9160184b64084188aca72f798a3c13a9c3e6b.1721302175.git.zhengjunjie@iscas.ac.cn> (Zheng Junjie's message of "Thu, 18 Jul 2024 19:29:35 +0800")

Hello Zheng and thank you for the KDE updates.

Could you add a German translation:

        (title
         […]
         (de "Plasma auf Version 6.1.2 aktualisiert")
        (body

@code{sddm-qt5} setzen.")

Some further comments;

> +        (body
> + (en "Plasma updated to 6.1.2, KDE Frameworks updated to 6.3.0, and
> +other kde package updates.
> +
> +With Plasma updates, sddm has qt6 enabled by default. If you want to still use a
> +Qt5 theme, you need to set @code{sddm-configuration}'s @code{sddm} to
> +@code{sddm-qt5}.")

Because “@code{sddm-configuration}'s” will be rendered as
`sddm-configuration''s with an ugly double apostrophe, I would suggest
to write “you need to set the field @code{sddm} in
@code{sddm-configuration} to @code{sddm-qt5}.”. This wording avoids the
apostrophe.

I think you should add this same paraghraph to the sddm-configuration
section in doc/guix.texi. I have not reconfigured to test, though.

Also a comment, your patch is malformed similar to what happened in [1],
because you set the Content-Transfer-Encoding to y instead of confirming
the default UTF-8.

Regards,
Florian
