The radeon driver requires nonfree firmware.  This is the core issue
which is not going to get fixed anytime soon.  There appear to be
partial fixes for some cards, for example I see mailing list threads
like https://www.fsfla.org/pipermail/linux-libre/2015-July/003080.html

Xorg on fbdev fails on Guix but works on other distros with 800=D7600
resolution at 75 Hz for my AMD GPU.
