Releasing on Tue, 18th?

Releasing on Tue, 18th?

I think most of the important things are in place for the release, and I
would like to target Tuesday 18th as the release date.  So we would need
to be done with testing and everything on Monday.  Thoughts?

I’ll upload installation images for testing shortly (once the background
image is integrated.)

In the meantime, if you already have Guix installed, you’re welcome to
build one for yourself and try it out:

  guix system disk-image --image-size=800MiB gnu/system/install.scm

and then follow the instructions in the “System Installation” section of
the manual.

I would like to merge back the two acl-related patches from core-updates
before that; the mips build should have caught up before the release.
Since there are only two commits to merge, can I cherry-pick them into master?

Normally I would rather avoid core updates at such a late stage.

What package(s) do these ACL fixes unblock?

Now, if you really think it’s important, and if (1) Hydra is done
building everything, and (2) there are exactly zero regressions, I’m OK
with merging it.

None except for ACL - it is the addition of include files, and some
modifications to the test environment (with tests still not executed).
Rebuilding the archive was incidental and not a purpose.

Definitely it is not important. It would just be nice to have it in after
letting it build for a week!
