Hi znavko
Most of the packages used have prebuilt substitutes. Make sure that you have authorized getting substitutes from the server,
https://www.gnu.org/software/guix/manual/en/html_node/Substitute-Authentication.html#Substitute-Authentication
------ Original message------From: znavko@tutanota.comDate: Thu, Feb 14, 2019 11:20 AMTo: Help Guix;Cc: Subject:Binary substitutes on Guix. When?
Hello, developers!
As mentioned in 'Substitutes' section of Guix Manual "The ci.guix.info server is a front-end to an official build farm
that builds packages from Guix continuously for some
architectures, and makes them available as substitutes."
And the roadmap contains this:
"* Features scheduled for 1.0
- larger & more robust build farm
+ we need a powerful, dedicated front-end"
Now when the users come to try, they are just seeing endless compilation process. And Guix looks not friendly with such an option. This is a bottle-neck.
Pre-built packages are needed. When will it be realized?
Thanks.
