Why is r-studio not packaged?

Why is r-studio not packaged?

Hello,

With such a strong support from the bioinformatics community for Guix (evident in a huge number of R packages),
I was surprised to see that the most favourite R IDE, R Studio, is not among the packaged solutions.
Is it currently impossible to package it for some reason, or just nobody tried?

Let me know before I get my hands dirty.

About RStudio, Ricardo and other did some work in this channel:

I did used long time ago (I mean months ago ;-)
So I am not sure about the current status.

Well, this channel is the entry point, IMHO, about RStudio and other
"bioinfo" packages not yet in (master) Guix.

Rstudio requires a few Java tools at build time that are difficult to
package without having to rely on pre-built binaries.  That’s why the
package hasn’t made its way into Guix proper and is only available
through guix-bimsb at this point.
