I think I have installed the 32 bit version of Guix System Distribution on
a 64 bit machine. Hov can I check this?

I assume the "modes of operation of the CPU" means that it can run in
32-bit or 64-bit mode. Here's the `lscpu` from one of my machines:
efraim@E2140 ~$ lscpu
Architecture: x86_64
CPU op-mode(s): 32-bit, 64-bit
Byte Order: Little Endian
CPU(s): 2
On-line CPU(s) list: 0,1
Thread(s) per core: 1
Core(s) per socket: 2
Socket(s): 1
NUMA node(s): 1
Vendor ID: GenuineIntel
CPU family: 6
Model: 15
Model name: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2140 @ 1.60GHz
Stepping: 13
CPU MHz: 1215.400
CPU max MHz: 1600.0000
CPU min MHz: 1200.0000
BogoMIPS: 3215.46
L1d cache: 32K
L1i cache: 32K
L2 cache: 1024K
NUMA node0 CPU(s): 0,1

I think I have a 32 bit system installed on my machine (i686) and you
have 64 bit system on yours (x86_64) because of the architecture
information. Is my suspicion correct?

You could try the command "uname -a". It should show the architecture your kernel was compiled for, amongst other things.
HTH!
